Focus group for qualitative assessment on Food Security in DR Congo funded by ADRA. The study found that the central problems were the dramatic situation of hunger, food insecurity, undernutrition and illness, mainly in child and women. A local enumerator takes the mid-upper arm circumference of a mother who is participating in a four-country study that the Institute for Global Food Security is carrying out in collaboration with CARE Canada in Southern Africa. Mid-upper arm circumference is a measurement that indicates nutrition status of adults. Different anthropometric measurements were taken on this mother’s child to determine his nutrition status.
