Recruitment to Retirement Program picks up speed

Over the past few months, you may have heard some buzz about the Recruitment to Retirement Program, aka "R2R". This new program will replace the current Banner Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and the Payroll One-Time Payment System (POPS), and will effectively replace much of the functionality employees currently access through Minerva. It's a very wide-reaching program, which will affect every McGill employee when it is deployed.

There is a phishing email targeting the McGill community, with the subject "Important Alert from McGill University Admin" and signature "Privacy Policy | Customer Support, Office 365 Mailbox Support Team".?The message asks recipients to Validate Email Account. Outbound server to be decommissioned November 30, 2017

In order to increase the security of McGill’s network, the smtp email server, will be blocked starting on November 30, 2017.

If you have set up an email application using IMAP or POP protocols to access your McGill email, or if you are accessing your McGill email through a web-based email service, such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail, please ensure the outbound mail server is set to to avoid any problems sending email.

Phishing scam: "You have a message" from Human Resources

A phishing scam is targeting the McGill community, with the subject "You have a message". The example we received says, "You have a message from the Human Resources Department" and asks the recipient to click a link to view the message. There may be other variants of this message, seeming to come from different units within McGill, or with different signatures. Please be on the lookout for similar emails.

RESOLVED: Wired & Wireless connectivity issues with several access points

The issue was resolved at 9:00 am.

Several access points on campus are down and as a result there is no wired or wireless connectivity in these areas.

Phishing scam: "Confirm your account."

There is a phishing email targeting the McGill community, with the subject ?"Confirm your account.". The message states that the recipient's account has been locked due to a verification process that is being enforced. To re-activate the account, the recipient is asked to click on a fraudulent link.
